Can exercising with heavy weights make one lose hair?
My scalp has been itching really bad for about two months. I don't have lice or a flaky scalp; it's not even red. Any idea what would cause this?
I was diagnosed with a slightly slower thyroid about a year ago when I was on the Atkins diet. I went off the diet, gained back the weight and now I am having the hardest time losing it again. My hair is half its usual thickness and I am tired all the time. Can this be from my thyroid?

Zach Lund returns to the Olympics after being banned four years ago. CNN's Mark McKay reports.
I'm 28 and noticed my hair has started thinning out. My father is completely bald, and nobody on my mother's side is. For the first time this week, I can see my scalp through my hair. If I could simply keep the hair I have, I would be happy. What alternatives to drugs can you give me? I've done enough research to know that baldness is caused by DHT and have seen a lot of "DHT Blockers" on the Internet. Are there any vitamins I can take, shampoos I can use or foods to cut out of my diet that will help? I would prefer to use something that I didn't have to use every day simply from a cost standpoint. Thanks!
What are the best diets and supplements to prevent and treat prostate cancer? What about tomatoes? Or vitamin E? Or antioxidants?
I noticed a single strand of grey hair on my 3½ year old daughter today. I would like to know if it could be external factors or some vitamin deficiency. There is no known history of young children having grey hair in either my or my wife's family. She is a healthy child. We are vegetarians and our ethnic background is Asian.
Big Brother star Jade Goody, a mother of two, nears the end of her cancer struggle
I have a not so rare but rarely talked about condition, hidradenitis suppurativa (a chronic abscess of a type of sweat gland). I cannot find a dermatologist with enough experience with this disease in my area to help me. My outbreaks are contained to my groin area. I am young (25), about 20 pounds overweight, but I am dieting and exercising to lose that. I have had the condition since I was 18, and it just gets worse. I have tried laser hair removal, multiple antibiotic, birth control and ibuprofen therapies. They are all a temporary fix; then it comes back full force. I am meeting with a dermatologist who practices with a plastic surgeon to look at possible surgery to remove the glands. What questions do I need to ask, and what should I be prepared for? I had one doctor tell me it is possible this surgery can affect my fertility. Is that true? I thank you so much for your time and consideration.
